I'm Elizabeth and I am a hand embroidery artist from Warwickshire. I trained at the Royal School of Needlework in London completing my BA (Hons) Hand Embroidery in 2024. I have always had a passion for embroidery and textiles since a young age and my degree allowed me to explore the art of embroidery.
Throughout my degree I got to take part in many exciting projects including Fields of EveryWhen, Exile: sono oriunda (I am of a Italian descent), The Coronation of King Charles III and live projects with McQueen to name a few. It was an exhilarating three years where I learnt many different embroidery techniques and learnt about the value of embroidery as an art form.
As a hand embroiderer I am particularly drawn to natural threads and fibres within my work. My practice is environmentally friendly and reflects my maker values of being sustainable, ethical and using renewable and regenerative resources. Natural fibre embroidery is explored through my hand embroidery pieces, I use a wide variety of materials including bamboo, recycled wool, cotton, linen, banana and nettle.
As a graduate I am continuing to explore the properties of natural fibres throughout my living textile embroidery pieces.
